Hi,

This book on robotics is free:

I looked at the PID section since it is a running topic. It is okay but 
doesn't provide any additional insights. Haven't looked much beyond that 
topic. I looks like a collection of class material combined into a book. 
(Maybe they explain in the intro?)

Probably worth getting and looking for specific topics. Might at least 
help define the questions to ask or search.
