For those of you looking for cheap RF-based beacons, maybe this is a choice.
Direction-finding is triangulation which is much, much less accurate than trilateration that was used in LORAN and is used in GPS. But direction-finding may be as good as you need to do ground-truth to correct the IMU and odometry drifts.
