[Dprglist] DPRG: COVID-19 update- RBNO for Tuesday 17 March and 24 March

Everybody is using Zoom. Seems about the same features as Webex, but seems easier to use. Webex is strange.
Gallery and speaker priority seemed useful in Zoom.
Webex makes my Surface Pro 4 go to 100% CPU and the fan screams. After 2 hours, my SP4 was cool with Zoom.
Zoom computer audio crashed every time for me, but dial-in worked and was no additional fee. Webex charges more for dial-in.

Subject: [Dprglist] DPRG: COVID-19 update- RBNO for Tuesday 17 March and 24 March

Sorry to report that we need to cancel RBNO for 17 March and 24 March.
I took a phone call from somebody at the Makerspace even as I was reading these latest DMS policy updates:https://talk.dallasmakerspace.org/t/covid-19-classes-and-meetings-at-dms/69995
https://talk.dallasmakerspace.org/t/office-coronavirus-policy-updated/69754

It seems that DMS is in the process of cancelling planned meetings and classes for at least 2 weeks, at least / likely starting with the larger ones.
In case we find ourselves stuck in this mode longer:I'd like to ask your ideas and thoughts on hosting virtual DPRG gatherings. Please speak up if you have any ideas for what you'd like to see, or if there's something you'd like to present.
Maybe we could even go further and hold 'club office hours' where we provide virtual help sessions.
Anyhow we can make it as interactive or passive as desired, and record proceedings for the DPRG YouTube channel. Let's turn this pothole into something good!

I hope everybody stays safe as we (hoard toilet paper) and hunker down.

BR,CarlDPRG Pres
PS.In case you missed it - the Coronavirus task force briefing from today - recommending a 15 day 'hunker down' period:https://www.c-span.org/video/?470396-1/president-trump-coronavirus-task-force-issue-guidelines-public
I can't seem to find the 2 page sheet the speakers all had on stage. The gist of today's guidelines seems to be here:https://www.kaaltv.com/coronavirus/the-presidents-coronavirus-guidelines-for-america/5675733/
