The National Institute of Science and Technology annually holds
manufacturing based robotics competition: <a

It is all done in simulation using ROS. I qualified once for it
but have passed on it since then.

The competition this year builds on previous years competition.
In a work area robots must collect parts to produce a kit of
materials. That kit is taken to another section and assembled into
a ventilator. The challenge for me was getting the arms to work
picking and placing the parts.

I'd be tempted to try it this year but without the base software
from that last few years it is probably beyond one persons
abilities.

Would anyone with ROS experience like to work on it?

The arms use MoveIt which is where I stumbled on my last attempt.
I can handle ROS, most of the sensors, and the AI portions.
