These tend to be pricey services from the traditional hobby robotics viewpoint - they are focused on the survey and agricultural markets. There is a very large free governmental network (<a href="http://unavco.org" target="_blank">unavco.org</a>) that serves active fault and mountain areas but that's mostly on the west coast and the rockies. Texas has a free non-real time network which can help with post-processing to get a good base-station fix, but doesn't help with RTK. NASA operates another fairly open network, but it requires getting an account and authorizing - and I didn't want to write the authentication code for my robot. <br><br>If you have internet access on your rover, one of the ways to get RTCM messages is from an NTRIP server. So many of those commercial and government networks operate NTRIP servers. The leading implementation of NTRIP is called SNIP and the company that makes SNIP also supports a voluntary NTRIP server for people who want to publish their base stations - known as "mount points" in NTRIP/SNIP land. That network is available at <a href="http://rtk2go.com" target="_blank">rtk2go.com</a> It's completely free and requires no authentication to use as a client.<div><br></div><div>Anyhow, if you are still reading and still want to learn more, you can also access my <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S-OwHQL25ngPYy-97KP6jZPA6bVr2L2PiUL6ix_6Dts/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank">project notes</a>. I've been using the rtk2go network. It's just a voluntary network, so<br>
there's no guarantee that the base stations are correct to a known<br>
precision, nor is there an uptime guarantee. It's also very sparsely<br>
populated in north Texas:<br>

But I've found the VN1 mount point in Richardson to be very stable and<br>
accurate for the last year - though it has had some outages.I've been able<br>
to use it up to 35km away and still get an error bar that I can't reliably<br>
measure.<br>

The Arlington mount point also seems stable - it's been there for at least<br>
6 months - but I haven't used it. Others pop up from time to time but<br>
haven't lasted long. I've published a base station on rtk2go for short test<br>
runs, but have yet to mount my antenna on my roof for a stable offering.<br>
