Do you think Six Can can be completed faster if the robot kicks cans
through the goal instead of carrying the cans?

If you think kicking
could provide a quicker run: Does anyone have a push solenoid you could give or
sell to me? I have many pull solenoids, any of which I would trade with. When I
tried to drill through the end frames of a couple of my pull solenoids, to
convert them from pull to push, I cut into some of the wiring, so I assume I
should acquire solenoids specifically constructed as push instead of trying to
convert a pull to a push.

A rule clarification question: The cans
need to go underneath the horizontal bar, and can't just be tossed over the
goal, right?

Another rule clarification: If a can rolls or bounces
back into the arena after properly going out of the arena through the goal, does
that can score?

I don't really care to build mechanical stuff, but
the idea of flinging stuff accurately over some distance makes me smirk, so I'd
like to try it. And it gives me an excuse to include echolocation into the audio
localizer for a small arena.

So, should I build a club robot
platform? Or does someone have a platform I should acquire? Or would someone
like to put a kicker on his/her robot, so long as the navigation was restricted
to sound only? I think the "kicker" would shove the cans, not cause the cans to
lift off the floor.

Happy New Year to you all!

John
