Sorry it's been so long I don't recall what I had to do to sign up.

I thought I heard that ChatGPT may only be available in the US, but A quick
search hints that ChatGPT may be available in Canada

Anyhow - if the system doesn't recognize your phone number as SMS capable -
perhaps you could try a service like TextNow | Get Free Calling and Texting
with TextNow <https://www.textnow.com/>
If TextNow works in Canada then you should be able to get a free phone
number that can do voice and text from a browser, and possibly also from a
mobile app...

If that doesn't work send me a private email to brainstorm alternatives...
