Jesse,
    I haven't heard any specific times for the novice course. However, I
expect times to be fast. The rules limit max speed to 36 inches/sec. If you
have time, you should visit the RBNV held on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM CT (see
website or Meetup). The contest is a weekly part of the discussion. For
this first competition, I would focus on honing skills with the simulator
(at least that is my goal). <grin>... winning is nice...<grin>
