Greetings from a lurker! I don't post here often, so
I'll keep this short.
I'm writing on behalf of Brick Fiesta, an annual
convention for Lego fans in Texas. This year's Fiesta
is in Mesquite, June 29-July 2:

We are especially seeking and celebrating automation in
Lego creations. Automation can include Lego Mindstorms
control or after-market electronics.
A great example is the MindCuber Rubik's Cube solver
robot (http://mindcuber.com/). If you've built one from
your Mindstorms kit, bring it to show (and compete)!
I will have two talks on 1) Arduino for beginners and 2)
my lighting mods of a Lego carousel kit using
Ardunio-controlled LED matrix driver chips (video here:
https://youtu.be/bWpxw-rT0Cw ).
Also, there was a recent announcement here of a plastic
connector sumobot contest. If you want to compete in
Lego sumo, please reply to me, and we'll add a
tournament to the schedule if there's enough interest.
Many thanks for your attention!
